There are many segments to wireless, TI is mainly going after the cellphone market. Their OMAP chip has a lot of software IP, that is the likely reason why Palm went with TI. But there are other areas that TI is likely not going to be much of a competitor in. In addition, there are handheld and low power segments that haven't even gotten off the ground yet, not to mention haven't been invented yet. The next 10 years are going to see explosive growth in those areas, and it is way too early to start picking winners.
