John, Re: "Does the cell phone consumer need to upgrade every two, three or four years?"

I'd answer that with a resounding *YES*. I have a 2G phone right now, and I just started a new plan with Verizon, so they gave me a coupon towards a 3G phone that will be available at the end of the year. 3G phones are going to add much better connectivity, a larger screen, and better features. They will also need a powerful CPU to process some of the new features that will be implemented. I will certainly take advantage of the offer, and I'm sure that more people will, once they see their friends and family with these new devices. Later, 4G phones, or whatever, will offer new capabilities.

The industry has just recently recognized the huge demand for mobile phone capabilities, and soon everyone will scramble to add video, audio, and Internet functions to make their phones more competitive. There will certainly be some losers and some winners; however, with Intel's product line, I'd say there's a good chance that they will be among the latter.
