Pascal's wager? Seems too much like a cop-out to me. Besides, any divinity fooled by it probably isn't worth worshipping.

Likewise, of course, any god requiring live sacrifice, torment or martyrdom: or deliberately setting puzzles and traps for putative worshippers. Why would any worthy god be crueller to its congregation than we are to our pets...?
