memri.org has a long study of the new textbooks that the PA published in Sept 2000, called Narrating Palestinian Nationalism

The study says that Palestinian textbooks describe the Palestinian people as Muslim Arabs, with occassional lesser references to Christian Arabs as well. The textbooks refer to Palestine as taking up the whole territory west of the Jordan, including Acre, Joffa, Haifa, Safed -- cities now in Israel. It omits any reference to Jews having ever lived in the area historically. It does however include a large number of anti-Jewish passages from the Koran. Israel does not appear on the maps in the textbooks.

The textbooks spend a lot of time trying to demonstrate that the Palestinians are a unique and different people from outside Arabs. (Historically speaking, they have their work cut out for them there, as the Ottoman Empire and Arab rulers before them never regarded Palestine as a separate political or ethnic entity; the British drew the borders of Palestine in 1922)
