Eloquent, but bleak.
It's bleak to us because we are humans and humans have values and assign characterizations such as "bleak" to certain situations. We would not, unless we were sadist sociopaths, consciously "design" anything so bleak.
The only thing that makes sense to me is that we are here to experience good and evil, tragedy and triumph, sense and nonsense, light and darkness, compassion and cruelty, and ... on and on.
The only thing that makes sense to me is that we are here, and it is in our natures to have experiences of good and evil, tragedy and triumph, sense and nonsense, light and darkness, compassion and cruelty.
And that that we will be judged as to what we make of ourselves in such an existence.
You are imo in error if you believe the judgment will take place after you are dead and in another sphere. What we are making of ourselves is judged every day by ourselves and others. It is in our natures to care very much for our own and certain others' good opinion.
It is also in our natures, yours and mine, to harbor and cling to those delusions we find comforting or useful. |
