I'm pretty sure your order will not be "live" come Monday. No brokerage allows GTC shorting orders, because shorting requires that borrowable shares be reserved. Obviously it would be unreasonable to reserve shares for periods longer than intraday. Also I'm fairly sure Datek is NOT one of the brokers allowing shorting under $5. CSFBdirect and MB Trading are the best-known of the ones which do allow this.
