Sorry, but there are simply too many people. Quality of life counts, you know.
If you really, really, really, really like a lot of people, above everything else, then move to India. That country is the reality of the abundance of people. And today's headlines are the inevitable outcome of overcrowding.
Human beings have evolved over the millenia in small groups. Those that have been successful over the eons, reproduced, and enjoyed the fruits of small tribes. All our innate thinking, enjoyment, etc. is set for "small tribe" numbers. What we have now, every where, borders on a teetering mass hysteria. In fact, the idea that you embrace =more= people is symptomatic of the "mass mania".
No one can gauge true "humanness" anymore, because our overcrowded environment precludes it. You think "inventing" is the essence of "humanness"? It simply is not.
Too many people lead to conflict, command-and-control religion, mental illness...all our humankind woes can be traced to the overabundance of people. =All=, without exception.
The largest flaw in your argument is that you ignore that there are only 23 hours and 56 minutes in any particular day. Pile all the wonderful inventions, cars, movie cameras, videos, books, movies, Academy Awards, vacation offers, tools, paints, clay, bicycles, mountain bikes, rollerblades, christmas lights, in-the-egg beaters, Walkmans, CDs, computers, DVD burners, software to do a makeover, vegamatics, coin collections, stamp collections, wood carving tools, lathes, do-it-yourself barbeque construction, backyard swimming pool...any use of one neglects the others. And no amount of wealth will make you able to incur any more hours in a single day, than anyone else. |
