For doctrines, they were teaching the commandments of men; they were rejecting the commandments of God that they may keep the traditions of man.
My comments:
We cannot live by rote, as in tradition, but by faith, believing in Him, having our hearts set on Him!
I learned many years ago, not to let tradition become a God. So many Sundays, and daily, we go through the motions of believing. But I have a God, who is able! We can believe and realize that He is real, and we do not believe out of some tradition. This is about a relationship, with a real and Sovereign God, who rules our lives and the universe! Not only that, He loves us more than we can imagine!
It is humbling!
