Jim: I would like to hear what Eric has to say on this one. I think we are talking about two different issues. I disagree that a software developer would select a line code for any company... and this is the case for my company. All SAP needs to hear is TCP/IP, I hope Eric doesn't need 1.5 or 4 or 6Mbps for remote diagnotics of a three tiered client server system. I would question the software he is using if it requires a 1.5Mbps... ala T1 speeds.... Frame relay is fractional T1 speeds. Lets say Eric does need 1.5Mbps speeds... which I doubt.. but Eric should request a certain QOS... not a line code. My point is software developers, "application layer" don't select line codes "physical/data link layers" for customers.... until later.
