Wide spread adaoption of LDAP based directories is good for business, also people pay for the applications not the directory ....i.e. ZENworks, DirXML, GroupWise, iFolder, iPrint, Portal...you get my point. I would not tie the commoditisation of directories to Novell's demise, rather the opposite!
