TI, Motorola, Cisco, GE, IBM and Intel are behind UWB for Bluetooth 3. Are you suggesting that you or I tell these large American corporations what technology they should develop and sell?
ieee802.org

Microsoft is driving the Wireless Networking Group, which aims to build the wireless internet. It looks like the wireless technologies they plan to use include IEEE 802.11a, 802.11g, 802.16 (all 3 based on OFDM PHY layer) and 802.15.3 (UWB PHY layer - currently in study group 3).
grouper.ieee.org

You can back a capital-intensive solution like CDMA-WAN if you'd like, but my take is that she won't fly... from the standpoint of both a lack of demand for such service as well as the equipment being too expensive.

IMHO. Rob
