Snowshoe....ah, yes....know well the dangers of investing in a town that depends on a one-trick pony such as oil. Still unloading land around Houston, purchased by a relative during the oil heydays of the early 1970s. Have always been amazed at tax time to find out that there has been a meager gain on this land of about $1,000 or so after 30 years---didn't turn out to be such a great investment after all. Not good to bet the rent or the mortgage on a one-trick pony boom.
