I do not have shy children but if I run into any I will urge them to try the bassoon That is really wonderful that you still play. We want my son to learn more instruments, because he is very talented. He is supposed to take up the saxophone next (while still continuing clarinet). Would be be able to play the bassoon side by side with his clarinet? And what age child can play the bassoon? They are rather large aren't they? I don't believe we even have a bassoon in my daughter's middle school band. Although they have a zillion flutes- you are so right about that being a herd.
