Fox makes a short reach bassoon for smaller hands.
There is always a market for doublers...
A Clarinetist would also play bassoon and tenor sax, since many Broadway books are for multiple instruments.
That's if he wants to go into show biz (lol).
I went to college for music ed and had to learn all the instruments.
Other than bassoon,
my favorite instruments
1.oboe
2.french horn
3.flute
the ones I hated:
1.Clarinet
2.trombone
3. violin

saxophone was just a shiny clarinet, and better I thought.
