Burt and all, The bulls are running, and we will have a great year!
Dreaming of what might happen in the future for those holding Intel.
This chart program is great: tscn.com
Assume that you started with $50,000 in Intel 5 years ago: 50k in Intel grew 770% in 5 years to 435,000 Same growth rate for next 5 years gives 3,784,500 Same growth rate for next 10 years gives 32,925,000 The above projected gains without the help of margin.
For our AMD friends let's start with $50,000 in AMD 5 years ago: 50k in AMD grew 205% in 5 years to 152,500 Same growth rate for the next 5 years gives 465,125 Same growth rate for the next 10 years gives 1,419,000 No margin used here either, but margin on this one might be worse than the black plague.
Diligent use of margin can in the case of Intel increase the future portfolio gains by factors of 2, 3, 4, or 5 (6, 7, etc) times during the next 10 years! Use margin at own risk, keeping in mind the stock fluctuation. Look at the past stock oscillation. Intel's past drop is probably around 40%, so play that in when using margin, but do so at own risk. AMD's swings have been as much as 75%. That stock is totally unacceptable for margin security, at least for the long term player like myself.
I am working hard, like all of you, in getting filthy rich. Give me 5 more years like last year, humble carl |
