Sarcasm - I guess it's a question of style. But on the subject of what's happening how to explain the mood that's gripping the USA? After WW2 my father told me that he thought that America, like Germany, was a hysterical nation. I knew what he meant - he cited the Rose Bowl Parade, events of this kind, as having an uncomfortable similarity to what had been seen in Germany. Mass parades and their seductive attraction.

But since 9/11 it seems that America is gripped in what can only be described as mass hysteria - the abregation of all the values of freedom and decency one thought that America stood for. A midget brain in the White House is portrayed as a war hero - slaughter by Israel is supported and continues with American blessing. Camp x-ray is a blight on America's reputation, and an attack on Iraq seems imminent to make good the omissions of Bush 1.

I fell asleep in front of the TV a couple of nights ago and awoke to watch the final 6 contestants of the Miss USA giving sycophantic answers to patriotic questions asked by an inept and chauvinistic Dion Saunders. Even Miss USA!! But that should come as no surprise - it's brainless pap anyway. Like most network TV - especially the news outlets.

We can only watch and hope that the dogs of war don't unleash nuclear war. Everyone's at it it seems.
