We don't consider trading posts as "vanity posts" but as a favor to the readers. Is there really such a thing as altruism? I think a trade is "worth a thousand words". Trades are pure revealed preference. Much better than most opinion, conjecture, or rationalization, which is often used to justify existing positions. Trades promote accountability and honesty. Full disclosure benefits the discloser as well as the community. It removes the hidden bias behind opinion, and reveals conviction and commitment.
