Raoul: Gaines Berland is a very annoying cold call company that is interested in your commission dollars. They give you their "recommendations" and make big noises about how their principals are well known on Wall Street with impressive track records. They ask if you'll watch one of their selections for a while and if it acts according to their projections if you'll join them on the next one. Very pushy sales folks. Very New York'ish. I've tried to get those guys to stop calling me several times. I asked how they got my name and the solicitor wouldn't tell me. I told him I wouldn't even talk with him until I knew how he got my name. Persuasive tactics work even with high pressure sales guys. Seems they get a report that lists the trading activity of individual investors and then call those who trade frequently. They finally quit calling me when I talked to the caller's supervisor 2 levels up. I expect I'll get called again in a few months. Really looking forward to it .... NOT! This has nothing to do with the SPNSF valuations, but at least you have some input on Gaines Berland. Regards, TED
