What a great post! Now the next question is whether the CDMA carriers, such as Verizon and Sprint PCS, who bought extra spectrum in the reauction, can survive without it for awhile. Maybe the most recent announcement from Nortel Networks of a far more efficient directional antenna will help squeeze up to double the usage out of existing facilities. The real problem, if there is one, is all that extra spectrum laying idle while the lawyers try to figure out what to do.

Congress can still legislate a way out of the mess, but here again, interest groups are weighing heavily on both Congress and the FCC to do something, ANYTHING to help poor struggling companies like AT&T Wireless and VoiceStream.
