I didn't mean to give people the impression that SAP would choose the line code. SAP would be line code agnostic, just like Microsoft. But, the service providers to SAP in Germany/Europe may not be.

My concern hinges on whether I understand what is happening with the technology so would you set me straight on the following:

Suppose we have a requester and a source of information flow. The requester uses CAP line code from their home to the central office. After the central office places the data on the Internet backbone does it matter if the source-central-office and the source-data-computer uses a different mode of communication other than that CAP??

If it does matter then I see havoc in terms of SAP remote support services originating from Europe. They would have to continue using their same old X.25 or Frame connections in this case.

(The same concept applies with one company and their subsidiary wanting SAP system access).
