And when teachers try and control their classroom and end up in a power struggle with the administration, the parents, and the union, it is the offending student who is catered to all too often. One mention of a lawyer is ususally enough to bring about swift compromise that turns the classroom control over to the mob, i.e. no backing of the teacher and no discipline for the student.

I'd like to see those overlays as I suspect you are right, at least about 2 parent homes.
