AE,

I don't know why WIND was omitted, but yesterdays release from Intel for the same processors (PXA250 and PXA210 applications processors) does include WIND as pointed out by Mr Flynn.

Intel telematic products supports VxWorks + others mentioned.

On the subject of WIND and Intel I think It's worth looking at some of the other items mentioned at the IDF (Intel Developer Forum) past and present that involve WIND software.

IOP's (i/o processors)
Intel's new IOP321. Applications are aimed mainly at storage.

The new Intel E7500 chipset includes IOP support as an option.
intel.com
"To speed up access to storage, the server platform can include an Intel® IOP321 I/O processor based on Intel® XScaleā„¢ technology to deliver sufficient bandwidth for storage solutions"

Note: IOP's with i960 cores only run on IxWorks. While the XScale cores run VxWorks, IxWorks and Linux.

Network processors
New network processors with very impressive performance were announced. WIND got a mentioned in one presentation.

The IXP425 Network Processor for last mile networking for home and office is supported by VxWorks and Linux.

The IXP220 & IXP225 Service-Specified Network Processors for broadband local loop provisioning runs only with VxWorks.

The IXP1200 is supported by VxWorks and Linux

The IXP2400 and IXP2800 Network Processors is supported by VxWorks and Linux

GbE and InfiniBand
There were also new GbE products and some InfiniBand demo's. These are both positive trends for WIND. For example, look on page 8 of the document below discussing a TDK. VxWorks is the only mentioned subnet manager with the main Windows 2000 solution.

3GIO was talked about. No evidence of WIND involvement but we can only hope. 3GIO seems to be like InfiniBand except designed for "Inside the box" as opposed to "Outside the box".

Other Intel platforms that use VxWorks
The IP Link Release 4 High-Density Standards-Based IP Telephony Platforms uses VxWorks for the Control system.

CompactPCI software drivers from Intel are limited to
Windows 2000, Linux and VxWorks:

The Intel 815E Scalable Performance Board development kit comes in two versions: Vxworks and LynuxWorks Linux.

Intel supports Windows 2000, Linux and VxWorks on the ZT 5503, ZT 5504, ZT 5087 and ZT 5523 System Master Processor Boards for telecom and Internet applications.
