I see it takes a lot to impress you. I'm wondering what your opinion of AMD's technology is, since they've never had success on something with their own ISA in the mainstream markets before. They've only managed to do what you call "incremental designs" with architectures that they've acquired from someone else. Of course, I don't look at it that way, but if success comes from proliferating an original architecture to mainstream markets, then few companies can really claim that they've succeeded with this. Intel and the x86 is one of those few that comes to mind, though. wbmw
