Thanks, Rambi. Expectedly, this topic touches off much heat...

I don't have time to do it justice at the moment, but I think Jewel's point is valid about the study you cite..

Most if not all of the priests that are being accused are gay (so far). That brings homosexuality into it. The Gay movement is stuck with some pretty repulsive stuff, such as NAMBLA (not very loudly disavowed by gays in general). Moreover, I have seen stuff from the Journal of Homosexuality (respectable? I guess it depends) talking about re-defining child molestation on the basis of how the child feels about it, lowering the age of consent for sex, and similar.

As long as these kinds of things keep coming out, and now that we have a spotlight shining on priests and boys, you have to expect that this kind debate isn't going away.
