"It's as if there's no ability to connect the dots in this country"

It depends on how you connect them I suppose. We have risen to where we are imo because our forefathers devised the best, fairest and freest (sp?) government on earth. It allowed people to prosper and to innovate. It also allowed them to abuse (slavery, child labor, etc.), and our country has answered to these issues and we progress in the process. To apologize for this is ridiculous imo. I believe that others could look to our success to find keys to how they could succeed, just as I believe we could do the same within our country. Unfortunately it is too easy (and encouraged) to blame others for one's circumstances. The example in American politics is the left's propensity to attack the very people who make our country go.

There are angry people out there pissed off at their miserable conditions and they lash out at America for it. They are wrong imo, and when it goes to far (which it did 9-11) there will be hell to pay. In the next few years it will become unnaccepatable to kill innocents to make your point, and that has nothing to do with oil.

Show me a specific injustice and I will fight it. Attack successful nations or individuals for other's conditions with no evididence and I will say it is a case of sour grapes. People like OBL will take people's misery and focus it against a common enemy for their own benefit. Your earlier assertion that we should not be getting involved in places other than Afghanistan is naive imo.

If someone hates me for something I am right about, then I don't care if they hate me. If they try to hurt or kill me or my family, I will fight back. Same for our country. Show me an example of a U.S. policy that justifies the killing of innocents (or even the hatred) and I may back you. Can you?
