The last post was an attempt to see if I could post or not, since AOL had a window popping up saying "due to network traffic, your whatever couldn't get through..."
Here goes the real post:
RECONNAISSANCE REPORT:
Went by SF Chocolate Factory and Pyramid Ale. Choc. factory is a mystery. The sign on the window indicates that they are open, but the place in empty. There's a desk I could see thru one window which seemed messy and used. Thru another window one could see empty display cases and empty baking racks. Last time I tried their phone number- nothing. Strange. If they are still in business, the sign says they're open on Sundays from 11 to 6. It says SF Choc.Factory Outlet, so I don't know if they actually manufacture there.
Pyramid Ale: Made reservations for around 20 for noon on Sunday. Under Silicon Investors. We'll get tables in the back that usually aren't opened up till late afternoon. It's an area behind the bar and you can see most of the place from there. There was a patio area we could possibly get, but it doesn't give that brewery patina or whatever. If you want the patio instead, let me know and I'll see if we can reserve that. Got the menu. Here are some of the brews: Hefewiazen, Apricot Ale, BGest Brown, Rye Ale, Porter, Espresso Stout, Wheated Ale, Pale Ale, Traditional ESB, Scotch Ale, Sunfest, GBelgian White, Amber Lager, Weizenberry (Don't tnink they have all of them every day)
On the menu: Salads, sandwiches, snacks, soups, pizzas, Pub Plates, kids stuff, desserts. Even have wine! Quiet a few vegetarian things.
DIRECTIONS: Get on I-80 and take the Gilman exit going east toward the hills. It's a few blocks up on your left. If you hit San Pablo AVe., you've gone too far. Big place you can't miss. Turn left and park in their big lot. Ask for the Silicon Investors' party.
