Keith How in the world is Metro PCS sharing 1XRTT data with ATT without a multi-mode chip? Metro PCS is not even offering data services at this point.

They are leasing raw spectrum from Metro. And using it with their (AWE's) current infrastructure. You will remember that shortly after 9/11 that ATT and Verizon (if memory serves me) approached Nextwave to allow them to use portions of their 30 MHZ spectrum in NYC for temporary additional capacity. This is the same agreement that AWE has with Metro. Metro has 30 Mhz licensed, and has leased AWE 10Mhz in each of their markets. The licenses do not mandate that different technologies can't be deployed. So Metro makes a nice chunk of change by leasing out a portion of their existing spectrum to AWE.

It's the same thing Nextwave can/ and will do (IMO). So the spectrum is not "as tied up" as the experts think.
