Gaines Berland: Yes, Yes, now I remember. I thought the name sounded familiar but could not quite place it. Now I remember who these people are, And I know what you mean. They called me about a year ago and were strongly trying to push American Express on my. At the time the stock was at around $45/shr and the guy who called me really badly wanted me to buy AXP through them. They guy told me Citicorp will be buying Amercian Express. Since I do not buy stocks through brokers I told him I will follow AXP and eventhough I would not buy it at that time (because I do not usually invest in non-high techs), but if it goes up and his prediction came true, I will call him back! He, of course did not leave me alone and kept pushing till finally I got angry and told him off. Well, it has been a little under a year and that guy's prediction of Citicorp buying AXP has not come true, however the stock has moved up nicely from $45 to its current price of around $78-$80/shr based on the speculation that someone may actually buy AXP. Now I have not called that guy again since I dont have his number (and even if I did, I would not call him), but I wounder if this was pure luck on his part for that speculation or something else!
