Joel you are shaping up to compare with Raymond! You obviously don't understand that Northern Ireland is a part of Britain. It's a bit like Texas, Alaska and Hawaii are part of the USA. The fact that there are soldiers in those places doesn't make it an occupation.

Ignorant Irish Americans have trouble understanding the concept, but that's the way it works. Soldiers and police in part of a country are not an occupying force, especially when the majority of that part of the country are in favour of being part of that country.

Some Americans who have an obsession with some ancestor who came from Ireland are so stupid that they were donating money to the IRA to kill random people [see Omagh]. They call themselves Irish-American. What a joke! They have nothing Irish about them. They got a bit of a shock when the WTC was destroyed and learned that terrorism isn't all that great as an idea, so they cut back on the donations to terrorism [it's also illegal now to fund terrorist organisations]. I remain hopeful that some of them were having a fund-raising meeting in the upper floors. Unfortunately, I'm only aware of innocent people from around the world being destroyed by the Moslem equivalent of Irish American and IRA Freedom Fighters.
