London, March 6 (Bloomberg) -- European stocks fell, led by steelmakers after the European Union, Australia, Japan and Korea indicated they will appeal to the World Trade Organization against President George W. Bush's decision to impose duties of as much as 30 percent on U.S. steel imports.

The Dow Jones Stoxx 50 Index dropped for the second day, sliding 15.35 points, or 0.4 percent, to 3631.76. Arcelor SA, the biggest steelmaker, shed 43 cents, or 2.9 percent, to 14.59 euros.

A European steelmakers' association said the decision imposes a `particularly heavy burden'' on its producers and called on the European Union for protective tariffs.
