Pam, thanks so much for all of your statistics on vegetarianism and the damage meat production/consumption does to the planet. I have discussed several of these issues here before, but not in so much detail, and it is really great that you are sallying forth with such gusto. Go girl!!
I struggle with total vegetarianism, not only because I love fish and think it really healthy to eat, but because many very quick dishes are made easily with chicken breasts and Campbell's soup or something, and I have found it really hard to be a gourmet vegetarian cook after a long day's work. So I keep backsliding into eating animals. Is there a particular cookbook you would recommend for such an unfortunate situation?
Oh, and always feel free to share your yummiest vegetarian recipes right here at the Feelings thread--I think in a year or so we may have enough recipes (well, not all vegetarian--some of them involve very strange animal flesh, actually) to publish a Feelies cookbook.
Okay, no laughing, anyone, at this next question. Pam, I read somewhere that HALF of the damage to the ozone layer has been done by the effects of cow flatulence. Is this statistic familiar to you?? |
