[quick comments from conference]

These are from JS. Not exact quotes. From my notes.

CG shipping to amati in a few weeks commercial availability a couple of months after that.

TI chip to AMTX by Oct.9th. production quantities by end of November.

20 customers currently using Amati's Allegro in trials.

Expect GTE rollout announcement in the next few weeks, by end of summer. WSTL and AMTX are only modems used in field trials. GTE is giving AMTX orders on an almost weekly basis as the trials expand. He doesn't expect AMTX to get the full order but they'll get their share. GTE is very tight lipped about exact rollout date as they line up their CLEC's.

AMTX forsees no ramp up products if they had to start shipping 10's of thousands of modems. They have that capacity through their old ICOT connections.

JS flat out stated that they have the best modem in the world. DMT vs. CAP battle is over. DMT has won according to JS. Issues now are cost size and power among DMT suppliers. (the WSTL CAP modem was using 7.5 watts)

NEC contract for Hong Kong VDSL proceeding very well. Excellent relationship with NEC. Contract is for 2 *million* Large quantity of product shipping feb/mar time frame. Early modems in that contract were CAP 16 bit supplied by another vendor for some limited uses and they were problematic.

Licensing agreements are being worked on. He gave a time frame of the end of the summer to finalize them. Orckit is the only one claiming that they don't have to license but they are not claiming to be ANSI DMT compliant at this time. They are claiming compatiability.

If WSTL uses Motorola's CG chip they will pay a fee to AMTX.

It was a pleasure to hear Pat's voice on the call!

That's the quick and dirty I'm sure Pat will fill in the board with more info when she can.
