Thanks for posting the article. This field still seems like an investment crap-shoot at its early stages. Perhaps Siebel is the best, maybe Vantive, maybe Remedy, Scopus or Clarify. I wonder who the nearest competitors to Oracle were at the time that investors were mainly paying for their growth more than their earnings?--MSFT, of course was one of them. Where are rest, and what weeded out the rest? Marketing, luck, time to market, emphasis on customer?
