Oldtrader,

I took this from the CNBC message boards. It is the posters opinion, which expands of what you have already said.

""I watched with utter disbelief friday night as Larry and Jim ripped the author of "Dot.con" in a most outrageous manner. Mr Cassidy who I am sure was invited to discuss the book, which by the way is not very favorable of J Cramer, The Street.com and the roles they played in the .com debacle, was instead ambushed in the worst way. First they started off slowly and made a few legitimate critiques of his book but then the roof fell in on him. Larry and Jim took turns on the author blindsiding him with attacks about the book and then not letting him respond in kind. Then the worst thing happened, Larry implies that the guy is an anti-semite because in the book he refers to Jim twice as a fast talking jewish kid. The problem with this is that I have heard Jim refer to himself more than a few times on one of his many appearances on TV as a jewish kid from philly and secondly when read in context of the book it is nothing remotely close to offensive. The passages that were read on the air did sound slightly offensive but Larry was using the old journalist tactic of selectively quoting the passage and leaving out many important key words. Shame on both of you, if you disagree with the guy debate him and more shamefully don't use false accusations of racism to discredit him. Larry as a conservative I am especially surprised at you using one of the favorite tools of the left.

Oh and by the way I read the book this weekend and it is a great read and from my experience at 6 years working in Dot.coms. This a very accurate picture of the absolute maddnes and greed of the 90's associated with the industry.""
