The role of religion in human history is far more complex. Something which affects the various aspects of life will show up when there are wars, too. That is a given. It is also the case that much of high culture--- architecture, art, literature, music, and so on--- is indebted to religion. Religious persons have given enormous sums of money and time to charity work. They have founded schools and preserved manuscripts, created orphanages and hospitals, and comforted the sick, the destitute, and the dying. What face you choose to dwell on says more about you than religion........
