14:34 ET Bond Ticker : As expected the Fed's Beige Book provides a slightly improved read on the economy given signs that the recession is or has passed. More positive results are seen in manufacturing as modest improvements in retail sales are noted. While the labor markets remain slack the worst appears to be past as some firms are no longer cutting back on employment. Consumer and commercial loan demand is mixed as residential real estate remains strong and commercial spending remains weak under the pressure of corporate profits. Price pressures are "virtually nonexistent".
