I never said that. I think we should have an efficient steel industry that isn't supported by government action. The same goes for other industries. Republicans are supposed to be the party of free trade and less government intervention. That's one of the reasons why I usually vote Republican. I don 't see how imposing steel tariffs has a place in this philosophy, especially considering there will probably be more jobs lost in other industries than saved in the steel industry. I think it was politically motivated because of upcoming elections in areas of the country where many steel workers live.
