You forgot to reply to this, and I'm curious:

I don't know what the "elementary error" is. Do you mean wording the paragraph in a way that might have lent itself to misinterpretation as a negative blanket characterization of males?

Did you read it that way, or did you understand that the paragraph in fact did acknowledge that there were bad guys and good guys?
