Agreeing to make good the losses of a hedging party is not the same as taking the other side of the hedge transaction. To make a valid hedge someone must have taken the other side. I would like to know who that someone was. In some cases it must have been the guys who took the 5th but their profits from this were nothing like the losses Enron suffered if I have the facts straight.
