Karen, this limb is getting longer and longer... How long do you want to stay out there? I don't think that all child molestation is created equal Really. Well, you painted a touching story about the cannery girl and the gardener -- has all the makings of a novel, if you ask me. Who could disagree that this was love at its purest? Now tell me this. You have roundly condemned Catholic priests who are pedophiles, on the basis of your "working conclusion" which precedes any knowledge of the circumstances of their offenses. Just what makes you so certain that many of these "abuses" were not equally loving, consensual affairs between young priests and young teens? How do you know that many of these youths might not have had cold, uncaring parents? How do you know that some might not have desperately needed a loving father figure? Why are you so willing to make judgments with no information? And don't tell me it is because the youths are coming forward 10, 20, or 30 years later to affix blame. You have not finished your manuscript about Cannery Girl, and how she felt 10, 20, or 30 years later about the gardener who seduced her when she was sixteen and an innocent virgin. JC
