Dan, Re: "At the rate Intel's IPC is dropping as it introduces new chips..."

I have two questions for you.

1) How many times has Intel reduced IPC from one core to the next?

2) How many times has Intel increased IPC from one core to the next?

Let's consider the cores that have been introduced in the last 6 years - Klamath, Deschutes, Katmai, Coppermine, Tualatin, Willamette, Northwood.

Now the bonus question, once you answer the first two, is to tell me again how you define a downward trend?
