Today I confirmed that Dictaphone's current analog tape systems are all proprietary. This means a recording done on a Dictaphone recorder can only be replayed on a Dictaphone transcriber. This suggests that they probably do not want an open architecture system with their name on it. If this is their strategy for keeping their customer base, I believe they will have major problems surviving in an industry they once controlled. I was asked a very strange question today by a very knowledgeable person in the electronics industry. Its content made me consider that Norris may be in the process of filing a patent infringement suit vs. someone. The only co. I saw with a future forthcoming removable flash module was one at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas in Jan. 96. I believe that co. was based in Taiwan. If such is evolving, it will serve notice on anyone else entertaining any similar moves that there will be a vigorous defense of the patents.

At this point I have no confirmation of any forthcoming legal action being initiated by the co., but it will be an interesting question to ask at the forthcoming annual shareholders' meeting.

Best to all:

B.
