Albert, It really depends upon where you go on the web to see the numbers. For example, Yahoo Finance (quote.yahoo.com) calculates the P/E ratio of stocks using GAAP earnings. Proforma results can "distort" the operations of a company, but I'm not implying that either AMD or Intel is using "proforma" to distort.
