So, given your sample size of "1", you draw a conclusion that AMD is making "major headway" in the notebook market?

The conclusion you draw is erroneous.

Did your nephew research the various notebook vendors to look for price/performance? Or, was price the deciding factor?

If your nephew wanted to buy an AMD notebook and was in the market for an AMD notebook, he could've purchased an AMD notebook from CompUSA, BestBuy, etc.
