You mentioned the outside reversal. I haven't looked back very far but in the past few months it seems that such a reversal may predict a higher high the next day (or a lower low where it is a reversal down). But I can't find much predictive value if you are trying to judge where the market might go a few days or more later.

Is this outside reversal idea a daytrading idea and is it a theory or has someone done a proper study on it? TIA.
