they raised the rate-of-return assumption from 8.50% to 9.50%.

fwiw, in one year their over-funding of their pension went from over $15 billion to about $7.5 billion. another year like last year and there will be no suplus left in their plan (of course, they won't have another year like last year; they're going to earn 9.5% on their assets <g>)
