Censorship is an attempt to deprive you of the right to speak or publish. No one is doing that, or we would not be having this conversation......
that's a false comparison again. If that were true, there would be no such thing as censorship, since someone can always speak or publish somewhere.
By your definition, if the government were to say, for example, that certain people were only allowed to speak on the corner of Wall Street and Broadway between 2:00 and 4:00 a.m. every Sunday morning, but nowhere else and no other time, that wouldn't be censorship because they would still have the right to speak. Of course, we both agree that that would indeed be censorship.
Within certain forums on SI, various people, including in some forums me, have been denied the right to speak or publish. Certain moderators, including JLA on RWET, have absolutely denied me and others the right to speak or publish in those forums. That, within the context of those forums, is, by your own definition, censorship.
Mind, I'm not saying it's illegal. Within the rules of SI, censorship is permitted. But let's just call it what it is.
If you want to participate in censorship by participating in such threads, you're free to do so. That's your choice. But don't try to pretend it is something other than what it is.
That's not worthy of you. |
