Gladman, please accept a welcome to our thread as it seems this may be your first post here.
I am an American and as pugnacious and chauvinist as any here. However, and emphasizing there
is no thread police here, please be advised there are many nations here represented, from US to Canada
to Trinidad to New Zealand to Australia to Germany, to China etc., etc. Please understand we agree to disagree
and have friendly albeit sometimes heated discussions, doing in our way a far superior job of dialogue
than that seen in the UN. People will accept your posts and comments here far more tolerantly than
virtually anywhere on SI BUT some of us, myself included (perhaps even the only one) take some considerable umbrage at your speaking impolitely to Maurice. He is a regular here and, yes, he is a bit of a nut about a company called Qualcomm, but he has spelled his name with a q as in "Mq" forever here and I assure you he
is well aware of how to spell his own name. I point this out because people from New Zealand, although often a little peculiar, are above all polite. Maurice may even be too polite to come to his own defense. All of this just FWIW and IMHO. I have some very strong, pugnacious, anti-Islamic views which I here vent uncontrollably from time to time and I have a fair degree of education. AND I am tolerated. I am grateful I can occasionally come here to rant but mostly to listen, read and learn...just a piece of friendly advice from an old fart to a newcomer...how about being polite?
