Interesting idea. I see the powers to be trying to keep HWP proped up to get the vote. They will try to show the stock price movement as a postive indication that shareholders like the deal. I think it will take awhile for the shareholder votes to come in. The CPQ /HWP spread is still far apart in relative terms. Here is an article that is good about the trade you mention. Longer term I think HWP is dead money because of the uncertainty whether they can pull off a successful merger. FWIW, I was on Hewlett's side. I think it's a bad deal for HWP shareholders.

One problem appears is that everyone is thinking about the same trade. Big money has a way of taking money away from the little guy when that happens. LOL!
