Oh well. Like I said before, though, the real disappointment is the continued weakness in Intel's communications businesses. Without that weakness, Intel guidance could have easily matched or exceeded that ANALyst's prediction.

So what's the problem? One thing I can think of is that customers just don't expect Intel to be a top player in communications products. They are by far typecast as a computer chip supplier. I've seen this type of thing prevent companies from getting into areas out of their expertise. If the products are properly architected and designed per customer requirements inputs, I guess it comes down to marketing. Just a WAG.

Oh, the other thing of course is this whole market is suffering, making the above moot, but still, what is the perception of Intel out there in the marketplace re comm products?
